The colour green promotes calmness, stability, harmony, and balance of the body and soul. It is a healing colour. It is also a colour full of life and fertility, as you can see when you look around in nature. Green symbolizes self-respect, health, and well-being. Green is the colour of the heart chakra called Anahata.
The colour red is hot and full of emotions. Studies show that red can have a physical effect, increasing the rate of respiration and raising blood pressure. In China, red is the colour of happiness and prosperity and may be used to attract good luck. Use red to grab attention and to get people to take action, use it when you don't want to sink into the background. A little bit of red goes a long way. Red is the colour of the base chakra called Muladhara.
The colour blue is calming. It can be strong and steadfast or light and friendly. The cool, calming effect of blue makes time pass more quickly and it can help you sleep. In many diverse cultures blue is significant in religious beliefs, brings peace, or is believed to keep the bad spirits away. Blue conveys importance and confidence without being sombre or sinister. Blue is associated with intelligence, stability, unity, and conservatism. Blue is the colour of the throat chakra called Vishuddha.
The colour black is mysterious, sexy, and sophisticated, but can also be seen as conservative, serious and conventional.
